Manchester United have confirmed news regarding two goalkeepers, one new and one old. Lee Grant has signed a new 1-year deal with the club while Tom Heaton’s return on a free transfer has also been confirmed by the club today. Neither keeper will challenge for the no. 1 spot, but having their experience on hand for training and cup matches will be useful.

Decisions have yet to be made whether David De Gea will remain at the club to challenge Dean Henderson for the permanent no. 1 spot, or whether rumors of his impending departure are true. There was a feeling with his switch to Europa League duties that he may be on his way out, feelings that were further fueled by extensive 10-year anniversary celebrations.

A De Gea quiz, save compilations, and even a Sir Alex rewind account of his recruitment were all shared on social media. It was a deserved celebration for one of the best to ever stand between the posts at Old Trafford, but came with a shroud of uncertainty whether we’ve seen him do that for the last time.
