Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, and according to multiple reports the deal could be finalized in the coming days.

Raphael has returned from his vacation and has resumed training at Valdebebas from this Friday under the new Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti. As per several reports, Varane has been respectful with Los Blancos and will be paitent both of the clubs have found common ground. However according to reporting this weekend from Mohamed Bouhafsi and Le Parisien, this coming week has been termed as ‘decisive’ for the completion of the deal.

The deal has even been given “Here we go” status by Fabrizio Romano.

United launched their first bid of around €45m a few days ago which was ultimately rejected by Los Blancos as they value Varane at a high of €60m.

Talks are set to continue between the two clubs but Raphael Varane would have preferred to have his future resolved before the end of his holiday. Now everything remains on United’s part on how much time will they take to improve their offer and will that offer be satisfactory for Real Madrid.

It has been speculated that the Red Devils will be ready to match Real Madrid’s demands with an improved offer this week which Real Madrid ‘couldn’t refuse’, and Varane is expected to be announced at the end of the week. If reports are correct, by mid-week we can have a clear picture about resolution of the matter.
