Fred: Fred continued to demonstrate his midfield abilities in the Brazilian squad against Chile in the Copa America 2021 Quarterfinals. The Manchester United man helped Brazil continue their strong defensive performances in a 1-0 win over Chile this past weekend, and did so with a man down for much of the second half. Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus was shown a straight red for a horror tackle, but Brazil managed to see out the win. They next face Peru in the semi-final on Monday evening.

Edinson Cavani: Edinson Cavani and Uruguay have met the end of their Copa America campaign in a loss to Colombia on penalties. A goalless Quarterfinal couldn’t be decided in extra time, and though Cavani and Atletico Madrid’s Luis Suarez both converted in the shootout, Jose Maria Gimenez and Matias Vina couldn’t convert. Colombia made all four of their kicks to secure victory and advance to the Semi-finals to meet Argentina.
