Manchester United defender and academy graduate Brandon Williams has completed a loan move to Premier League side Norwich City. There had been some period of negotiation before the deal was reached, but the move is now official for the promising full back.
A great chance for regular #PL minutes — best of luck, @BranWilliams #MUFC

Williams had a promising start to his United career in the 2019/20 season after filling in for an injured Luke Shaw. His tenacity as a tackler and eye for getting forward were noticeable early, even in the somewhat uncomfortable circumstance of switching to left back after spending much of his school on the right. However Shaw’s return from injury and rise to career best form pushed Williams back to the bench. An opportunity to gain meaningful experience in a Premier League side should do him well as he continues his development.

Norwich City should be desperate for good defenders. A harsh opening schedule against Liverpool and Manchester City in their first two matchweeks was a difficult welcome back party to the side who were relegated in 2019/20, and one which exposed some holes in their back line. Williams should get the chance to impress often.
