Daniel James has completed a move to Leeds United for £25m + add ons. Manchester United sell the winger for a decent profit on what they paid to Swansea City back in 2019, and James gets a move to Marcelo Bielsa’s side 2 12 years after a move to the same club fell through.

James impressed early in his United career, scoring in each of his first three games at the start of the 2019/20 season. Though he added a few assists over the course of the year his form overall tailed off, as did his confidence. He became a player that could come in and do a job, a reliable hard worker, but his ceiling appears to be lower than what the club and the fans want.

James’ move to Leeds also adds a little bit of financial freedom, but with only a day left in the transfer window the hope of signing a midfielder is still low. Only a matter of hours left now on deadline day.
