Manchester United’s 19-year-old Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri has been given the go-ahead to continue his development at Deportivo Alaves for the 2021/22 season after United agreed on a season-long loan with the La Liga outfit.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano added that Alaves will be paying his full salary and they don’t have an option to buy.
Pellistri impressed during pre-season but he was always likely to go on loan. United have a lot of options in the wide and forward area. Pellistri needs minutes right now and he got around 542 of them in a top-5 European league last season. He played on both wings in a 4-4-2 system and he’s likely to be used in the same way going into the new season.

The winger is quick, skillful, and has a tenacity that has impressed boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and those that have watched him.
Alaves finished in 16th place last season. They’re likely to have another challenging season, which shouldn’t faze the young Uruguayan who joined United from Penarol.
If this loan spell is successful, United could have an army of young wingers that could hold the fort for the next decade.
