Cesc Fabregas has told friends in English football that he wants to quit Barcelona to join Manchester United; according to a report in tomorrow's Daily Mail.
The former Arsenal captain has long been linked to a move to Old Trafford, who have seen at least one bid rejected by Barca, as David Moyes revealed to journalists earlier today that talks were still ongoing.
The perception has widely been that Barcelona would provide the real hurdle rather than Fabregas, since the club lay be unwilling to sell, but if the player is unhappy at Camp Nou it could make the club more willing to sell if Fabregas forces the issue.
There's still a while to go on this deal, but this is hugely positive news for United, who now have a realistic chance of getting their man. A third bid could be in the works very soon; and it may be the last - but it could just be enough to get the Catalans to agree to sell.
