No, DJ Buffonge isn't the bloke spinning the decks down at the student union bar on Friday night: it's Manchester United's latest acquisition. The 17-year-old, whose name is rather conveniently shortened from Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffonge, has joined from Championship club Fulham after impressing in a trial with United's U-18 side. It seems to have been in the offing for a while, though he's now got himself a page on the official website.
We know absolutely nothing about Mr. Buffonge, other than that's an incredible surname, and we haven't been able to glean much more info. It seems his description by United as a "creative midfielder who is very comfortable in possession of the ball" is about as good as we're going to get.
Alright, so it's not exactly in the Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford league of transfer news, but at least it's something to brighten this wet and windy wintry eve. And what's more, he used to play for Arsenal, which will make it all the sweeter in the event that he does one day pull on the first team shirt.
