Hold on to your hairpieces, ladies and gentlemen! The Daily Mirror have hooked themselves a big fat transfer rumour! Look at it thrashing about on the line there! It's a whopper!
Manchester United are weighing up a summer move for Tottenham's England defender Kyle Walker ... United are believed to have made discreet enquiries about Walker's situation at White Hart Lane, with Van Gaal identifying him as a player able to operate effectively in a flat back four or as a wing-back
Makes a certain amount of sense, this one. United are quite obviously looking for a rightback: Louis van Gaal apparently prefers Antonio Valencia to Rafael, and that's quite obviously a cry for help. So far most of the rumours have focused on the (old, out of contract) Dani Alves or the (young but promising) Nathaniel Clyne. Walker, at 24, represents a kind of halfway house between the two.
He wouldn't be cheap, mind:
The player has four years to run on his £50,000-a-week deal so Tottenham would want top dollar if they were to consider selling.
What do you think? This particular aspect of TBB has never been fully convinced by Walker, though at least of SBN's Tottenham supporting staff members likes him "a lot".
