Robin van Persie wants to stay at United

The relationship is more complex than cause and effect, but there's no doubt that Manchester United's upturn in form this season has coincided quite neatly with Robin van Persie's spells on the sidelines. That, added to the fact he turns 32 in the summer and has failed to impress when he has played, has suggested that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the summer.

However, an article from the Daily Mail's big cheese Ian Ladyman today suggests that may not be the case, and quotes a "source close to the striker" as saying: "Robin is in no rush to leave. He still thinks he can achieve things and contribute at Old Trafford."

With United almost certain to let Radamel Falcao return to Monaco, and with Javier Hernández predicted to return only to be shipped off elsewhere, United's provisional 2015-16 attack is a little bare without Robin in it. If he's happy to continue playing a rotation role, then one would assume that Louis van Gaal would be only too happy to keep him around for at least another year.
