Adnan Januzaj's future at Manchester United "hangs in the balance" according to the Guardian's Jamie Jackson. In the article, published at lunchtime today, Jackson claims that the Reds are in pole position to sign Memphis Depay -- a transfer that would further restrict game time for Januzaj, who has made only seven Premier League starts so far this season.
Truth be told, the article doesn't tell us anything we wouldn't have already guessed. It doesn't suggest that a permanent move away from Old Trafford is on the cards for Januzaj; rather that Louis van Gaal may try and sort a loan deal for the young Belgian international.
However, it does prompt us to think about his future at United. Under David Moyes last season, Januzaj showed glimpses of brilliant talent, and earned himself a spot at the World Cup in Brazil on the back of it. However, he's at an age in which he needs to be playing regular football, and sending him out for a season probably isn't a terrible idea.
