We interrupt our regular weekend programming to draw your attention to this Mirror EXCLUSIVE:
Robin Van Persie will be offered an £18million deal to sign for Qatari side Lekhwiya
Who, we hear you ask? No worries. The Mirror have got you covered there:
Lekhwiya are managed by former Swansea chief Michael Laudrup and they are ready to give RVP a three-year-deal worth £6m a year. The prospect of starring in the Middle East could appeal to the 31-year-old if United decide to end his spell at Old Trafford.
Now, a couple of months ago, tBB would have assumed that Louis van Gaal would be happy to keep his compatriot around for the last year of his contract. But given Van Persie's poor form since his return from injury, and Van Gaal's recent coy statements about there being a number of likely departures from the squad, we're not so sure. If Van Persie fancies earning giant piles of morally ambiguous money in the middle eastern sunshine, we think United might be happy to let him go. One to watch.
