Manchester United have confirmed that star summer signing Radamel Falcao will not have his Old Trafford stay extended. He arrived on a season-long loan deal from Monaco last year, but a failure to live up to expectations means he'll be heading back to the French Riviera, the poor sod.

Van Gaal: "Falcao is a top professional & a good human being. On behalf of everyone at #mufc, I would like to wish him well for the future."

But on a serious note, Louis van Gaal there confirms what we'd suspected: Falcao is a pretty good egg. It's tragic that the serious knee injury he suffered last year appears to still be causing him problems, with the Colombian lacking the ability to dominate defenders as he once did.
Still, I'm sure we'd all like to see him do well in the future, preferably outside of the Premier League and certainly not at Anfield.
