According to the papers, Cristiano Ronaldo might be unhappy at Real Madrid, and Manchester United might be getting ready to exploit that.

Well, it just wouldn't be a transfer window without him, would it? According to the Manchester Evening News, who are usually fairly okay when it comes to this sort of thing, Manchester United are attempting to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. Sayeth they:

M.E.N. Sport understands United are working on what could be a new club-record deal to bring Ronaldo back to Manchester six years after he joined Real Madrid for a world record £80m.

To be honest, tBB has always assumed that United check in on Ronaldo's availability every month or so; it would be almost negligent not to. But the MEN reckon there's more to this, and it comes at a time when the internet is abuzz with stories about Ronaldo being generally unhappy with life in Spain. He doesn't like Rafa Benitez, he doesn't like that he'll be playing up front, he doesn't like the way the club treated Iker Casillas, and he doesn't like playing the crossbar challenge in training. Apparently.

God knows what he'll make of Louis van Gaal.
