All transfer sagas end, and one of the summer's longest and most tedious is drawing to a close. According to various outlets in Spain, United and Real Madrid have agreed a fee for the transfer of David de Gea. Here's Marca (via Mr G. Translate):
Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement by De Gea. The goalkeeper will make in the coming hours in new player white. The operation will close around 30-35 million.
Not hugely surprising, of course, whatever the recent stories about United holding firm and hanging on for another year. The real question is: what now? After Sergio Romero's horrowshow on Sunday, Manchester United are in the rather awkward position of needing to find a new No. 1 goalkeeper in the next 26-and-a-half hours. Hopefully the club have somebody in mind and are already making progress on the quiet. Otherwise, things could be about to get hugely messy.
