Manchester United's one-time boy wonder and veteran of the Wolfsburg Champions League disaster, Nick Powell, has been farmed out to Championship promotion hopefuls Hull City on loan. It's perhaps just about the single most boring deadline day transfer you could imagine, but sadly, it looks like this is about as exciting as things are going to get.

Of course, it'd be great to see Powell force his way into the first team and find some of the promise that persuaded United to sign him from Crewe Alexandra back in 2012. However, Tigers boss Steve Bruce is very much a creature of habit, and it'd be a surprise if he was able to force his way into a midfield which already boasts several players with Premier League experience, including Mohamed Diamé, Jake Livermore, Tom Huddlestone and David Meyler (among others).
As a result, it's likely that Powell will go from sitting in the stands to warming the bench. Which we suppose is some progress!
