Manchester United manager José Mourinho has confirmed what we'd all suspected: both Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis will be allowed to leave Old Trafford this month. Both players were signed by Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2015, but have found their playing time severely limited since the Dutchman was sacked at the end of last season. Their departures are now imminent.

Quoted in the Mirror, Mourinho said:

"Their situation is exactly the same, both of them. I will allow them to leave, the club will allow if the right offer comes. Until this moment, no. Is this good? No. Why not? Because I don't think about them as options. Normally they would be selected tomorrow but they aren't because we are waiting for something that a few weeks ago seemed 100 per cent, but not now."

Both players have been strongly linked with moves to Everton, and according to some reports, Schneiderlin is undergoing a medical with the Toffees as we speak. It looks like we should expect more news on this front in the next couple of days.
